Why choose Umbria for your wedding
Love passion and lots of experience: this is what I want you to discover in this blog entry: love for Umbria and its beauty.
Healthy food, historical and folkloristic events, and lots of greenery.
If you are thinking of planning a wedding in Umbria, I will take you in this virtual journey, in order to give you the experience to discover the Umbrian territory.
Since 2014 I have been working in this beautiful green corner of paradise and every day I discover new wonderful locations that I put at your service to make your wedding a special day.
The Umbrian cities are full of history and culture, the medieval villages will amaze you, and you will fall in love with quality zero-kilometre food.
Perugia: breathtaking views, history and adventure
Perugia is the main town in Umbria: the medieval city is lively and dynamic also thanks to the presence of the University, making it a multi-ethnic city open to different influences.
A glance at the wide square overlooking a beautiful belvedere and a shot of the beautiful fountain in the centre are a must.
Not only history and beauty, but also charm and mystery: take a tour of underground Perugia for a unique and unrepeatable adventure.
Not only architectural and scenic wonders but also great events. As in the whole of Umbria, there are also unique and fascinating events in the Perugia area.
Among the many, we must absolutely mention:
– Umbria Jazz: This is probably the most important jazz-themed festival in Italy and among the most important in the world. It takes place in July and brings names like Alicia Keys, Stefano Bollani, Chick Corea, Sting, and Mika, to name but a few. It was founded in 1973 and every year the city dances with concerts and music-themed events throughout the city.
– Eurochocolate: this time in October, Perugia gets greedy with a gastronomic event dedicated to chocolate with show-cooking and exhibitions of major brands and confectionery artisans animating the entire centre.
Leaving Perugia and going north we find many towns with indescribable history and landscapes.
Once past the city centre, a few kilometres away we find very special and interesting villages and towns, including: Corciano, Deruta, Massa Martana, Montone and Passignano sul Trasimeno.
In the lake Trasimeno area, in fact, we find truly picturesque towns with selfie-worthy views.
The lake area is also constantly on the rise and the flow of tourists is increasing.
Lake Trasimeno’s neighbouring towns are only a few kilometres from the Tuscan border, so you can also take a trip to the nearby region, cradle of Italian culture, to visit cities of timeless charm such as Florence, Pisa, Siena and many others.
Assisi: a jewel between religion and millennial history
The city is famous for Saint Francis, patron saint of Italy, and for its artistic heritage.
The famous Umbrian city will captivate you with its history, solemn religious importance and unique landscapes.
Like Perugia, Assisi is a destination for religious and cultural tourism but is also famous for its unique events such as:
– Calendimaggio: every year in May Assisi’s two parts (upper Assisi and lower Assisi) compete against each other in a medieval festival with a great tradition.
– Palio di San Rufino: in August it is time for archery (or better said, crossbow) for the historical re-enactment that celebrates the city’s patron saint
Near Assisi we find other ancient towns that will amaze and fascinate you, such as Spello, for example, where every year in June there are the Infiorate (masterpieces made with flowers) that make the town a unique spectacle.
Nearby we find Trevi, Montefalco, the sources of Clintunno, a little further away Todi and Torgiano on the other side Norcia and Cascia (and Castelluccio where there is also the world-famous flowering), not to forget the Marmore waterfalls to cool down a bit in the hot Umbrian summers.
Umbria is also good food.
In every place you visit, you will be enraptured by the goodness of typical Umbrian dishes, including succulent cheeses and salami, delicious pasta dishes and zero-kilometre products such as the famous black truffle of Norcia.
Choose Umbria for your wedding and become part of the beauty and history of this beautiful region.
